One thing I have learned is that writing is so important. If you cannot communicate in this digital realm,
you will not make it. Knowledge is power, and if you can present your knowledge clearly and concisely,
then it gives you even more power in this hectic world.

Aside from covering how to research and practicing how to analyze, Dr. N helped me excel as a student.
Writing is necessary for any subject.

Overall, the major positive was that I was given the opportunity to practice my writing in an environment
where trial and failure (growth) were greatly encouraged.

All the practice is what helped me the most. I realized that I am not even a bad writer, and that I just
needed more practice.

I thought Dr. N was extremely helpful and positive in every way I could ever want. The encouragement and the resources to do well were definitely all right at my fingertips.

My structure and sentence fluency have improved dramatically thanks to the resources you have provided me with. Before, my sentences used to be long and choppy; now, I have variety.

I had great experiences in our sessions. The material you provided allowed me to learn something new every week. The articles and books were interesting and provided me with important information needed to succeed in future writing-centered courses.

My transitions and fluency have improved significantly. Going back and re-reading my recent papers, I
have a hard time recognizing that they are mine because they flow so well. Before this, I used little to no
sentence variety or transitional phrases between my paragraphs.

You were truly wonderful to work with and I am glad I have you as a resource! I hope next year I may
come back for some sessions and ask your opinion on future papers for advice on them.

Talking and working with you, Dr. Nieswandt, helped a lot. I feel that you contributed the most to my
improvement in writing.

All the tools you used about bettering my argumentative strategies are useful and will remain useful
throughout my life.

Oh my goodness, everything you taught was useful and I can further use all the information I learned as
writing tools. I wish I could stay on the site so I could keep every document we ever used.

Your teaching methods are effective and inviting. You engage students and they learn from you. You are
an excellent writing instructor, and I am so happy you agreed to work with me!

You are the best! You really made my year fantastic.

Confidence is something huge I gained over the year of our work—confidence in my writing.

The expectations and the requirements were very specific. I like this though.

This course has influenced my grammar, knowledge about literature, typing, reading, and writing
positively.

My teacher challenged me with advanced literature which assisted me to learn and understand more about
it.

I think for me, the greatest challenge was the vulnerability of the memoir and personal essay… On the
other hand, writing--everything--was extremely challenging, and I think struggling on all my pieces
helped me grow as a writer.

Being made to write in so many different categories outside my comfort zone was a good challenge in this
class. I do not think I would have considered writing a humor piece on my own accords; however, I ended
up doing so for an assignment.
